Courtesy of Ralph Grasso, and following up the pictures I mentioned a while back, I have a scan of the wall chart published in “The Scout”.
Dr G and I have been musing over this material, since the half-staff grip and rather simplistic techniques do seem to lead to great big wallops on the hand. However I am off the opinion that this was never designed to be a complete martial system, rather a healthy exercise for young boys, and one which would support a martial mind-set. The use of boxing gloves to protect the hands and the banning of thrusts show this to be a sportive form, but I think it could still be used today as a gateway to other systems.
